Tip for reducing or eliminating shedding
We have five Pugs. Most Pug owners know that the Pug breed sheds extensively. My husband and I mentioned this to our groomer, who also owns a pug. She told us she shaves her Pug twice a year; she loves that there is very little to no shedding.
We now have our Pugs shaved twice a year. This is a great way to keep the shedding to a minimum and also helps to keep the Pug cooler during the summer months.
Keeping them cool in the heat is important for their health. Pugs can overheat very easily.
Give it a try...
The coats are so velvety soft after they are shaved. Our black Pug, Kirby, has the nickname "black velvet". :)
Thinning the coat or shaving may be beneficial for other breeds as well.

CARING FOR THE WRINKLES ON YOUR PUGS FACE
Just a tip for the care of your Pugs wrinkles:
I use non-scented baby wipes and put a little bit of peroxide on them to clean the wrinkles on my Pugs' faces.
I normally do this as a morning ritual, but once or twice a week is fine too.
This helps to keep the folds clean and the peroxide kills any bacteria that may be lurking there.

You Know You Love Your Pug When.......
1. You have more pugs beds then guest chairs.
2. You cancel your vacation to Cancun when you see the look on their faces as you're packing.
3. You kiss your husband when he comes home from work, with pug hair stuck in your lipstick.
4. You'd rather smell pug puppy breath than a bouquet of roses.
5. The doctor asks you about the bruises on the back of your knees.
6. You don't set the alarm clock anymore, the "thump, thump, thump" or collar jingles wake you every time.
7. Or you wake up with a smushy black nose holding a metal dish 1/2" from your face.
8. You never get to sleep in on weekends because they don't understand that concept.
9. You thank them for bringing you the tennis ball that just came out of the toilet.
10. Or the dead squirrel (add your own word here..... pine cones, snowballs, neighbor's chickens, etc) that they bring to your bed in the morning.
11. Rake the pug hair to the edge of the walls for insulation in the winter.
12. You sleep in the pug bed so you don't have to disturb them to kick them out of your bed.
13. Call your answering machine to leave your pug a message.
14. Wear a miner's lamp to make it to the bathroom at night so as to not step on anyone.

6- Know that, no matter how I am being treated, I shall never forget it!
7- Keep in mind, before you hit me , that my jaws could crush the knuckles of your hand with ease, but that I do not make use of them.
8- Before you scold me when working with me, consider: perhaps I am uncomfortable from digesting my last meal; perhaps I was exposed to the sun too long; or perhaps I am tired.
9- Take care of me when I am old -- you too are going to be old one day.
10- Be with me when my going gets rough. Everything is easier for me when you are beside me.

Benefits of Dog Ownership
If you do not have a dog or any other sort of animal, may be you should reconsider. Do you know owning a pet is beneficial for your health? It is true. There are many different direct and indirect benefits for you if you decide to get a Fifi. What is actually of significance is the evidence behind these former “myths.” No longer are these merely anecdotal ravings of dog fanatics there is scientific proof behind these beliefs. Research into the relationship between animals and their so-called owners is providing even more data as you read this article. Evidence is beginning to mount on the healthy aspects of having a pet.
• Whether you own a dog for a long or short period, it will have an affect on your blood pressure. Sure, it may seem to go through the roof when you find the couch in tatters, but it is true. Having a dog can lower your blood pressure.
• If you own a dog, you may have a decreased incidence of heart disease.
• Dog owners exhibit a greater sense of psychological stability. You may be crazy about your dog, but you are not certifiably insane.
• Studies have show people who have dogs use their doctors wisely. For some reason, they have fewer non-serious medical condition visits. They do not go to waste the doctor’s time and/or they do not have these slight problems.
• Dogs are great stress relievers. Stroking a dog’s coat is a relaxing experience mentally and, apparently physically. Your blood pressure decreases, your system relaxes.
• What dogs do best is motivate humans. If it were not for dogs, many people would sit on the sofa or couch all day. They would not take their eyes off the computer screen. They would fixate on the flickering light that is their television.
• Dogs motivate people in a variety of ways. They have you get up to feed them, to let them out and to engage in play. This is a type of manipulation, but it is a healthy form. They get you to engage in mild and more strenuous forms of exercise.
• Dogs are exercise drill sergeants. The good ones have you going out in all kinds of weather to take them to the doggy park or around the park. The sloth dogs still mange to lure you away from whatever you were doing to pay attention to what they want. They get you to take them outside if even for the briefest of moments.
• Dogs are social animals. If you have a pet, you get to meet a variety of people. This may happen at dog shows. More likely, you will meet them as they walk your dog. Sometimes, they are walking their dog.
• A friendly relationship develops between the owners of dog. They talk about their dogs, of course. They also talk about other general and specific matters. Sometimes, dogs even lead to romance. This is not always the case. Groups of dogs and people who meet regularly develop a unique dynamic. What is interesting is they often only know each other by the dog’s name.
• The most important benefit of having a dog is love. Dogs teach us how to love without restrictions and conditions – although cookies and treats help. No matter how you look or how you feel, your dog will love you. No matter how hard a day you have had, how depressed you feel or lost, your dog is there to steer you through the bad times.
Is it no wonder people have pets?
